The Association of Lifecasting International, or ALI as members refer to it, was founded in the summer of 2000. This ALI will celebrate its 5th year of promoting the art of lifecasting throughout the world on behalf of its members.
Lifecasting artists Ed McCormick, Dan Spector, Hiram Ball, Michael Conine, Chris Fletcher and John Schoonraad founding members and current directors have done much to build the organization to almost 300 members worldwide.
ALI counts among its membership some of the finest life-casting artists from around the world. But it also believes that its growth depends on educating new artists to this medium and as such boasts, many members of various levels of artistic achievement from students to masters.
Open Lifecasting Forum
The association was formed to promote this ancient of art forms, and includes an educational forum where members post questions daily and can receive answers from around the world on techniques, marketing and inspirational ideas. It is open to members and non-members.
ALI Life Casting Awards
Each year ALI holds a competition for artistic excellence. Winners receive the ALI Award, a beautiful trophy designed by artist Philip Hitchcock. All ALI members are eligible to submit their work for consideration.
Member Gallery
Registered members may post examples of their art in the ALI Gallery. Non-members have the opportunity to browse the gallery to see (some for the first time) fine example of lifecasting art.
Member Library
The association also maintains a library of information on lifecasting and related subjects for its members. It is free of charge to registered members.
Certified Lifecasting Instruction
ALI also certifies life-casting teachers to assure consistent and safe instruction in this art form. If you are looking for a workshop or a high-level classroom experience, be certain to read the workshop section on this site and call an ALI Certified Instructor for workshop schedules.
