Topic Subject : Exhibition report

Just got back from my weekend at Skin2 expo and thought I’d share the experience with you. It was really nice to meet up with CJ and Richard Neal. We were in a Guild of Erotic Artists section on a gallery area above the main exhibition and together with four lifecasters there were displays of photography and painting on an erotic art theme. There also was a demonstration area (lifecasting, photography and Shabari (a decorative rope tying art) which attracted people.

The place had a real buzz to it and it was interesting to meet up with other like minded people. CJ’s work is amazing up close and made me realise how far I’ve got to go. I felt like an amateur by comparison and it has spurred me to work even harder. Still she has been doing it a lot longer than me so there is hope. And she’s gorgeous as well!! She spent some time in front of the photographers lens so I guess if she gives up lifecasting she could take up modelling. As for ‘that’ lifecast bra – what a lot of interest that caused.

Richards work is different again and of a very high quality and features metal cast into the base mould and also clay with amazing designs on it.

The other lifecaster was Ken Clark who is well established in the film industry and produces highly finished plaster pieces. Ken is an old hand at doing demos at the Guild open days and did the demonstrations here to the benefit of us all.

I found it really inspiring to be in the company of so many artists and have come away with lots of new ideas. The main exhibition was about fetishism and I have never seen such a large collection of rubber, pvc and corsetry in my life. Somewhat outside my normal experience I must admit but the whole place was full of happy people.

I have attached a few photos to give you a flavour of the show. One shows me with a couple of visitors to my stall –I’m the one in the middle! I have included one of the girls from the fashion show just to show what it was like –I wonder if alginate sticks to PVC………

And the last one.

Incidentally, wouldn't it be nice if we could have had an ALI flyer to put on our stands to show how professional we like to be. I am amazed at the lack of response to my previous posts on this subject. This show was build as the largest of it's type in the world and there were exhibitors and visitors from all over the globe -what an oppertunity missed.

great photo Richard, and thanks for the lovely compliments. There were some
fantastic costumes there I must say.

I wanted to point out to everyone else that the photo of me in the wearable
lifecast bra was taken by Richard himself. I was a bit knackered last night
when I wrote and forgot to credit him (sorry Richard).
